Notify Insights: 2019’s Best Bits

2020 is going to be a big year for Notify. We’re planning some exciting projects for our business and some major developments for our products.

Equally, 2019 was a big year for us. Our business grew, our team grew, our customer base grew, and we’re now back from the festive break, rested and raring to go!

So here we are, first full week back in the office for most of us, reflecting upon our “best bits” of the past twelve months.

For me personally, it makes me so happy to see that we’ve grown enough as a business to have moved into a new office to accommodate some fab new colleagues. I also loved attending the North Tyneside Business Awards, where we were a runner-up in the Digital & Innovation category. It was a fantastic night out with the team and something to celebrate for all of us.

And for my colleague Paul, one of his stand-out moments of 2019 was completing his Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training and building a strategy to roll it out across the business this year. Paul is a passionate advocate of looking after your own mental health at work, and doing what you can to support those around you. Read more in his blog from November.

For our CEO, Duncan, it was receiving a message from a client to say that Notify’s software had helped to save someone’s life through the reporting of a very high risk near-miss. This is what Notify is all about and, for a Health & Safety tech business, feedback doesn’t really get any better than that – it makes us all so proud to see so many businesses joining our #SafetyRevolution.

Jayne, who is chair of our Board of Directors, enjoyed a similar moment. She was driving in the car with Duncan, who then received a call from a client to say that he was “blown away” by our latest module, Risk Management, that it exceeded his expectations and that he loves how Notify is helping his organisation. This means loads to us because we made lots of positive advancements in 2019, around the technical and user experience aspects if Notify products and it’s fantastic to hear this type of feedback from our clients.

In November, Duncan and our Chief Product Officer, Andy, hosted the second Notify Product Advisory Council (NPAC) meeting at the National Training Academy for Rail alongside Siemens Mobility. The idea of NPAC is that we can directly listen to our clients’ experiences of using our products to help shape them going forward, and hear our clients sharing snippets of their own Notify journeys. Each client came up with Safety Goals for 2020 so it will be interesting to see how things are going at the next event in April!

Oh, and to top off 2019, at the very end of December we learnt that we’d were one of Business Live’s “20 for 20: the North East companies to watch out for in the New Year” – a welcome surprise to end a great year for Notify.

We’ll be sharing news of upcoming projects and product updates throughout Q1 of 2020 so, for now, Happy New Year from all of us here at Notify Technology.
