We’re proud to share that Notify and Menzies Distribution Solutions have been shortlisted for Digital Transformation of the Year at the IOSH Awards 2026.

The recognition celebrates a partnership that helped Menzies Distribution Solutions record its safest year on record, cutting Lost Time Accidents by 33% and RIDDOR-reportable incidents by 17% year on year.

From manual processes to mobile-first safety

The shortlisting follows a fast-moving digital safety transformation that began after Menzies Distribution Solutions separated from the wider Menzies Distribution Group in late 2024. As a newly independent business with 1,800 employees across more than 50 UK sites and a 400-strong truck fleet, the team set out to replace manual, desktop-based processes with a mobile-first system that everyone could use, from drivers to the CEO.

Working with us, Menzies Distribution Solutions moved incident, hazard, near miss, and observation reporting onto a mobile app, added QR codes so any worker could scan and report on the spot, and digitised audits and inspections from end to end. The results came quickly, with around 1,500 observations logged in the first three weeks alone.

A workforce that’s engaged in safety

Over 2025, safety observations rose 70%, from 15,592 to more than 26,500, and reports came from a far wider cross-section of the workforce rather than a handful of regular contributors. Digital audits climbed to 6,977, six times the previous year’s total, as teams who had relied on spreadsheets adopted the system in full.

The partnership also proved its flexibility mid-rollout. When a separate fleet system for vehicle accident reporting underperformed, we configured and deployed the capability within days.

Stronger leading indicators, real harm reduction

Those stronger leading indicators translated into measurable harm reduction. Alongside the 33% fall in Lost Time Accidents and 17% fall in RIDDOR-reportable incidents, minor injuries dropped 33%, and blameworthy vehicle accidents per 100,000km fell 17%, confirming 2025 as the safest year on record for the business.

A note on the figures: the qualifying period for all IOSH Awards 2026 categories is that the work showcased in entries took place between 1st January 2024 and 31st December 2025. The metrics quoted here reflect that reporting period, so they may differ from other figures published elsewhere on our site.

Reflecting on the partnership

Ayshea Robertson, Chief Operating Officer at Notify, said: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted alongside Menzies Distribution Solutions. From day one, they were determined to build a proactive safety culture, and our job was to give them tools to drive it.
