This five-day CQI and IRCA Certified Lead Auditor course provides a detailed understanding of the international Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) standard, ISO 45001:2018.

The course not only enables participants to carry out effective, value-adding audits, but also deepens their understanding of how ISO 45001 health and safety management systems are designed and implemented.

Successful completion of the course meets the formal training requirements for those wishing to register as Auditors or Lead Auditors under the CQI and IRCA Certified Training Scheme.

It is also recommended for occupational health and safety practitioners responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a health and safety management system that meets the requirements of ISO 45001:2018.

Participants are expected to have the following prior knowledge:

  • Occupational health and safety management principles and concepts, including the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle
  • The purpose and benefits of an OHSMS
  • Basic knowledge of managing occupational health and safety (OHS) through hazard identification, risk assessment, risk control, and legal compliance
  • Awareness of common examples of relevant national and local OHS legislation and requirements
  • Familiarity with key OHS terms and definitions as outlined in ISO 45001

On successful completion of the course, individuals will receive a CQI and IRCA-accredited training certificate (2338).
