ISO 14001:2015 Foundation Course

This course helps participants understand how Quality Management System (QMS) techniques are developed and applied, and how the ISO 9001:2015 standard is interpreted and implemented.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Describe the purpose of a QMS in relation to the seven principles of quality management
• Explain the purpose, content, and relationship between ISO 9000, ISO 9001, and ISO 9004
• Interpret the requirements of ISO 9001 within the context of an effective business management system

• Key environmental terminology and definitions used in ISO 14001
• Identifying environmental issues and assessing aspects and impacts
• Understanding organisational context and applying a risk-based approach
• Overview of key environmental legislation and its relevance to an EMS
• The structure and main requirements of ISO 14001
• Setting and reviewing environmental objectives
• The continual improvement process for an EMS
• Monitoring, measurement, and analysis for performance evaluation

This course is ideal for decision-makers and managers at all levels who need to understand the fundamentals and practical requirements of an effective EMS.

It is also valuable for Environmental Managers or anyone responsible for maintaining an existing EMS to a recognised standard.

Additionally, the course is useful for those who need an introduction to environmental management, or for participants planning to attend the registered 2-day Auditor Course without prior experience of EMS.

On successful completion of the course, individuals will receive a CQI and IRCA-accredited training certificate (2353).
