Notify is a great system for helping to increase the number of near misses and to reduce the number of accidents occurring in a workplace. It’s a very quick, easy and simple system to use and it saves me and the business a lot of time."
Nigel Donoghue – Health, Safety and Environmental Manager – UK operations
Epta UK designs, manufactures, installs, and maintains commercial refrigeration systems for major supermarket chains like Morrisons, the Co-op, Aldi, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and M&S. Their success in the UK market stems from their ability to respond quickly and flexibly, thanks to local manufacturing and their expert field engineers. Additionally, being part of the Epta SPA group, which has over 6,000 employees, gives them access to a global network of manufacturing plants, further strengthening their capabilities.
Prior to using Notify, Epta relied on a card and paper system for near miss and accident reporting. Field engineers were also home based, so if they had an accident or near miss, they had to phone or email their manager, who would then phone the supervisor, who would then inform the Health and Safety team. It was an extremely slow and inefficient process.
As a sustainable leader in commercial refrigeration, Epta are on a mission to improve through data driven insight and recognised their existing system limitations. After reviewing the market, Epta chose Notify as their Health and Safety Software partner as they could tailor the system to their exact requirements. Notify’s adaptable and user-friendly Incident Management mobile app was also easy to deploy across the wider workforce. Users don’t need to scroll through endless pages to report a near miss either – with Notify it takes less than two minutes – that’s with pictures being added too.
Epta now have a system which has everything they need to engage employees to quickly and easily report safety events and ensure a safe working environment for office staff, those working in the manufacturing plants and warehouses and field engineers.
Epta have seen a year on year increase in the number of near misses being recorded and a reduction in the number of accidents. This demonstrates good behavioural safety as employees are now more aware of the working environment and they are actively using the software to look out for hazards. All of this “free” near miss data has helped Epta make the working environment even safer for all employees.
