82% of organisations still run core safety work on spreadsheets, email or manual processes. 68% of safety leaders already use AI in their own work at least weekly.
Both numbers come from the same group of safety leaders.
That’s the picture the 2026–2027 Benchmark uncovered. Enthusiasm isn’t the problem – most safety leaders are experimenting with AI, and very few see it as a threat to their role. The problems sit underneath. Many organisations have no AI governance, or don’t know whether they do. Most have no access to data-science skills. And the majority of safety data sits in storage rather than informing decisions.
Notify Technology and The Global Series partnered to ask more than 100 senior safety leaders, across 12 sectors and 8 world regions, what they’re actually doing – not what they think they should say. The results cover digital maturity, data capability, AI readiness and safety leadership, so you can see how your organisation compares.
