As the business expanded, they knew a scalable, modern approach to health and safety was key to sustaining that culture.

 

Challenge

Prior to implementing Notify, Platinum relied on paper-based forms and a big, long-winded spreadsheet to manage accident and near miss reporting (something many Safety Leaders will be familiar with!). A lack of engagement from front line workers due to the time-consuming nature of near miss slips, meant that Platinum were missing out on vital safety data to help inform their risk management strategy.

Inputting, correlating, analysing and presenting the data they did collate was also extremely time-consuming. It meant the Health and Safety Team was spending far too much time on administrative work and not enough time collaborating with the teams on the shop floor to manage and reduce risk.  As the Platinum expanded, they felt it was the right time to bring in a Health and Safety Software partner to help them address those issues.

 

Solution

The introduction of Notify marked a turning point for Platinum. With its mobile-first platform, every member of staff, from engineers to warehouse teams, could easily report hazards, incidents, and near misses in seconds. Intuitive and customisable forms, offline capabilities, and automatic notifications for high priority incidents ensured that key data was captured, escalated and actioned in real time. This enabled Platinum to increase near miss reports from 18 to 500 over a 3-year period and reduced the number of reportable incidents from 6 to 1.

Beyond safety event reporting, Notify also enabled Platinum to drill down into incident and action data, and visualise key metrics such as accident and lost time trends, and accident frequency rates, in real time. This enabled the safety team to 10+ hours on manual work each week.
